great artist, questionable habits. always sucks to have anyone die that suddenly, regardless of fame.

but I'm glad he took our esteemed governor out of the spotlight. goodness knows the Argentinian hoochie-momma story would've festered all week long.

At least there is some good to come out of this - MTV is actually living up to their name and playing his music instead of showing crappy reality TV. Maybe it will help remind people of how great of an entertainer he was. I may not approve of how he lived his life, but as an artist he was unmatched in his generation.

R.I.P the king of pop

Always have love his songs. Almost most of them are good. Poor thing hadn't a clue how to be a normal human thou. Guess that's his price to pay for being the King.

R.I.P Farrah Fawcett too.

I love how people care so much about celebs, yet I doubt anyone here reads the daily obituaries, much less thinks about the countless deaths that happen daily all over the world.

A loss of life is a terrible tragedy but its part of life and some people believe its a reward. A heartattack is a good death. Atleast he wasn't murdered or suffering a long, slow death like cancer.RIP Farrah Fawcett.

So god bless and rest in peace to all, not just celebs. Celebrate Mikes life, he had a good one.

PS: My personal opinion is using someones death as a conversation piece is in bad taste. But maybe thats just me. We don't need a thread about this, since its all over the news and the internet. But I get the point, even if I don't like it.

Birth and death brings people together, more so death, even in real life, simple, nothing to do with taste, in my humble opinion.

What a sad day it is today..One of the larger than life musicians passed away. As much as people in recent years heard about scandals surrounding him or saw glimpses of his erratic behavior in media, it is very true that there is probably no other musician in the world who has a better name recognition than Michael Jackson. What he achieved in his life is simply can't be compared to anything. He is and will remain as a legend forever.

Not to speak for anyone else but I check the obituaries all the time and I know plenty of people who do too.

But that isn't the point, even if those people are important, Michael Jackson changed the face of music and has the greatest selling album of all time. He brought tons of people joy with his voice and was one of the greatest musicians to grace the industry. The generation before us had Elvis, and Michael Jackson is our Elvis, the guy the next generation is going to look back at and said "that dude was incredible." Both Kings in their own right.

R.I.P.

This is technically somewhat on topic...as some dances in GW are based on Jacksons dances. Nevertheless...

The dude clearly had mental issues. That being said, he was quite possibly the greatest performer of all time. What name is more well known in the world than Michael Jackson? None that I know of. RIP.

Should have a mass gathering of female necros in GtoB to sync thriller dance in honor of him.

Or something.

Poor guy. RIP.

My favourite songs of his are Thriller, Billie Jean, Beat it and The Way You Make Feel. Expect most of his songs to appear in the Top 40 charts during July.

If all these countless deaths would have had an impact as Michael Jackson did, you would have a point.

You could argue that a surgeon could save hundreds of lives, and give hundereds more better lives.

The sports starts, musicians, actors, etc always get all the attention, for better or for worse. Just the way the world is.
